Animal breeding in general, Dog breeding in particular

At this point I want to write down my thoughts about breeding animals. In our riding area there were many people who said : Papers ?? You can´t ride good on papers.............

That´s true. You can´t ride on papers. But I´m sitting with a much better feeling on a horse from a breeder than on a horse with an uncleared history.....Where I know that the breeder of this horse did the best possible to keep him healthy and lucky.

Then comes the dog breeding. I´m a member of the club for british sheepdogs / VDH. Anyone who wants to breed at the VDH with papers have to fulfill many requirements, that are important for the dog. A dog is the only friend you can buy. To keep him busy and healthy is not only a challenge, it costs much money. So purebreed dogs are much more expensive than others, of  course. You need lots of time, money and heartblood to breed successfull and healthy.  Keep that in mind while thinking about the price !!!!

We will have our first litter in August 2010.
